Lisa Forster, Trumpet

Lisa Forster is a versatile musician who moves with ease among the many styles featured in the BrassWorks repertoire. Her piccolo trumpet shines on baroque pieces in which this difficult-to-play instrument is customarily heard. But Lisa showcases this tiny trumpet in a variety of pop and patriotic selections, including The Beatles  "Penny Lane" to the fireworks of John Phillip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."  Her ability to play in the high register not only makes BrassWorks' jazz sets sizzle, but has earned her a spot in the Monday night rehearsal band of famous jazz composer and band leader Tom Kubis.

Lisa also multi-tasks in other areas of her life.  She works in the field of Entomology at the University of California and throws herself with abandon into a number of rugged outdoor sports that often cause her friends to fear for her safety.
