Mark Prather, Trumpet
Mark is an elementary teacher in Corona, California, but he spends every free minute playing his trumpet. This has been going on since he was in the fourth grade in dusty West Texas, and went on to attend the nation's second-largest school of music at The University of North Texas, where he participated in the famous jazz-studies program there. While at North Texas, Mark had the best part-time job ever: he played in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium band, performing at all home games accompanying the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in their famed bump-and-grind dance routines. After a couple of brutal years playing in cruse ship bands, Mark turned to teaching, where he can be found to this day, molding young minds during the day and disturbing his neighbors during the evening with non-stop practicing--whenever he isn't playing with BrassWorks. Listen to some of Mark's smooth jazz playing here.
